Build log: viewtopic.php?f=50&t=60248
The time you spend planning is more important than the time you spend building.........

I’m currently at 140 hrs on mine. Started it in March of last year.
At work we build custom all aluminum truck bodies and trailers. Even our simplest box van delivery truck takes 200 hrs... just wrapped up an ambulance in about 1500.

Thank you all for the replies!

I am anxious to get started but promised the wife I would finish another project first. With any luck that might be done in January!

I am the property manager of a mini storage place and there is a larger 40x40 unit with over head door and electric that just can't seem to get rented. I may try to work in there starting in February through the end of the winter into the spring. I will be there 5 days a week already so staying a little late every day to get some things done might be in the cards. Then really bust out a few hours on the weekend with my boys when its time for the heavy lifting

Thanks again for all the replies. It seems I may have underestimated the amount of time needed but I'll update the plan.... and then double it and round up to the nearest unit! :)

Mat,

You need to define what is important to your family. I believe you can do a
bare shell with a hatch and a shelf that's campable in less than 60 hours.
Flashlights and a sleeping bag will get you out there while you contemplate
what's really needed.

I'm embarrassed to estimate how long I fiddled about building mine. But,
i installed lights, wireing, radio, shelving and a couple of cabinets, batteries and
other kinds of connections in between sickness and family stuff.
