Of course, he's not talking about any of us from the Teardropper Clan.

He's using Park Servcie correct-speak. But we all know who he's talking about.

It's those (yech...) Tent Clan people.

One year in Yosemite our neighbor told us a bear cub had his paw on the edge of our closed galley lid and was shaking the teardrop. We heard all the ruckus and just layed still.

Providentially, today I spent a bit of time researching the risks of carrying food in a vehicle and/or trailer while boondocking in bear country. It seems to me that the risks can be reduced but not to a significant degree. If the bear is hungry, the bear will, at a minimum, do damage trying to get to the food.

I was watching grizzly feed in a river. There were 3 or 4 all trying to catch fish with differing levels of success. All of a sudden, as if on cue, all of them stood up, sniffed the air, dropped and ran off into the woods.

30 seconds later a very large male ambles into the water, takes a single swipe, catches a fish and then takes it into the bushes. Clearly the Bull of the Woods.

All of a sudden one guy goes running down the trail with his camera yelling, "I'm gonna get pictures". I was standing next to the ranger who swore under his breath and then said," when they come piling out of that brush I won't know who to shoot". Luckily he caught the guy first.

If other Griz are afraid of an individual bear I would think common sense would tell you not to approach. The gene pool was not made cleaner that day but only because of the Rangers intervention.

Holy crap keep the damn memes off the forum. If YOU have something to say, please post it, but we LOVE not having to deal with these things. We have enough bumper stickers in the world. Keep this kind of crap on Facebook for crying out loud.

I hope you had a great day, and maybe a laugh Thomas. Some of us need them once in a while.
