Window Wedgie Widget (things you didn't know you needed)

Postby mnswamp » Tue Nov 01, 2022 7:30 pm

I wrapped up the major part of my teardrop build in August, and haven't written much because we've been _using it_!!! I've learned so much from this forum, and hopefully will continue to share in the coming months. I did want to pass on a small item that I've created to solve what was a chilling problem for me, and to make it available to others. I'm pretty sure the idea isn't original, but I hadn't seen it done like this before, so I'll claim my 15 milliseconds of fame right here and now!

Anyway, here's the Window Wedgie Widget https://swampwerks-teardrop.blogspot.com/2022/11/the-window-wedgie-widget.html

mn,

Nice concept. I like the way the layers fit into the window track. I do the same for my windows, but I use a 2" piece of lathe. Before I got "fancy," I used a stick. We're very "high-tech" here in Texas.

Good idea!

Here's a version made from scrap Baltic Birch, so the price of manufacture these days would be prohibitive!

I’m not seeing what this gadget does?
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".

It allows a window to be cracked open a few inches. Something between fully open and fully closed.

Oh, slide UP windows. Got it. My brain is thinking of Rose and crank out windows.
