Avatars are turned on...

What's that? That's the pretty little picture of you under your name!!! :) But remember they can not be too big. 150x150 is the maximum size as long as it's under 21,000 bytes!

Have fun!

Here's Mine.

Ok, what can I say. This is the logo for my wife's dog grooming business. My daughter drew it for us. We own a large standard poodle, and I sure wish he could use a hair dryer, alas I have to put with a poodle who hogs the bed when he's allowed on it and when he craves attention goes through the garbage and pulls out the kleenex (tissues) and shreds them!

Hey Bev,

So I guess the "t" in "beverlyt" stands for "Tweety?" :D

How fun. Where do you find the ones that "move" rather than just a pic?

Welcome Fiero,

We have a bunch of guys here already, and many of them have already built a teardrop, so I'm sure we can tell you a thing or two!

BTW if you go to Angib's web page, (look at Angib's profile for the URL), you'll find cad drawings of several designs.

Do you have any idea what shape you'd like to build for your Fiero? Also, what is the towing capacity of that Fiero?

Sounds great, thanks!

Of what I have seen in my research so far (which isn't much), I like the classic shape the best (if there is such a thing). I don't think I would do it in the wood or aluminum style. I think I'm leaning to having it painted to match my Fiero (when it does get its new paint with Shelby Cobra style black racing stripes). So maybe do it in a way that I could fiberglass/bondo it to make it match the Fiero more.

As far as towing capacity: in my owners manual, it lists it as a maximum loaded trailer weight of 1000 pounds, and that the maximum static tounge weight is 100 pounds (other Fiero owners have said that have towed up to 1500 without an issue). I hope not to push it over the limit though.

I know of 1 Fiero owner (living in Colorado) who has his own TD (that he built: http://www.fierowayne.homestead.com/camper.html ) and he said he has no problems towing it.

Your buddy Wayne has a nice, light teardrop with a nice light tongue weight.

I built my first one like a tank. You can see the photo album here.
http://www.mikenchell.com/teardrop/4x8_ ... index.html
Be sure to look at all 13 index pages!!! :)

Anyways, with the double wall construction and studs and everything else, it ended up being 840 pounds. More importantly, the tongue weight ended up being 215 pounds. Your Fiero would not have been able to pull that.

Andrew has a Supperalegga on his website, that is an ultra light teardrop. You might want to consider some of his construction ideas when you build yours.
