Pressure regulator for 1# LP bottle?

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

Hi Cliff,

Good question!

It is called a "drip leg".
It is used to "catch" debris, like rust or dirt, and or moisture that may be in or have been introduced into the tank before it can damage the regulator and or gas valves.

Rob, how do you have that 11# tank fastened? I see what looks like a bolt, nut, and safety ring, but cannot see what you have it mounted to, or how stable it might be?

Hi Cliff,

It is connected to a piece of bar stock that is welded to the tongue, and bent at 90 degrees on each end.

The bolts go through a hole drilled in the upturned ends.

I wanted a nice clean look, with no brackets or supports to show.

I'm eliminating a big bottle on my Scotty build.

Over the years I have reviewed my propane needs and since all I have is a built in 2 burner stove...that I only use for first morning coffee, I figure I'd save the weight of a 20 or 10lb bottle.

I fill my own 1lb bottles from a big one at home.

And use that savings for say an air conditioner.

Happy Trails
