How to mount a TV when you didn't plan for one...

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

Postby Gage » Thu Mar 23, 2006 8:31 pm

You know what I have added that I haven't told anyone yet is a 15" wide flat screen TV/DVD that I plan on just sitting on the counter top and charging 25 cents to watch and I'll even provide the pop corn. For those hot summer nights when you want to watch a good DVD.

Have a good day.

Mike,
How about a pull out shelf with a portable dvd player?

Add a USB TV tuner to your laptop and you've got the whole enchillada.

That's the direction my thoughts have been traveling.............even though a 15" Flatscreen would be nice.
Chris :D

The tension between what is good enough and what is beyond that creates the space for character to become our work.

I was thinking along those line also , prhaps a decent used laptop then get the tv tuner card for it, probably cheaper than a 14 or 15 inch lCD flat.

Mike, I know this is causing you a lot of stress, so I humbly offer my services to take the tear off your hands so you can build another one that meets the current specifications

Krob,

You're so funny...

Hey, I have an ultralight wall in the basement... would you be interested in that...

I start the other wall next week. The teardrop would be just mere weeks away...

How about an eye bolt in the ceiling and a rubber shock cord to hold it?

What about trying something like this. I found it on Sonys website. Gets you DVD/TV/CD/ Alarm? Radio and a 9" drop down TV. Mount it up near the ceiling . You got power right there. Just a thought. I don't know if the link will work but try it.

I got something like that but without the DVD from Circuit City for under $200, Radio Shack has one with DVD on sale now for $200, or an 8" LCD TV for $150

And if you really want TV, just get a TV PCMCIA card for your laptop!! Then you don't have to find a place for the TV!! Problem solved! :D

Well, I finally decided just to put a little corner shelf in. The TV will actually ride in the car with us. We'll just slide it up in the corner when are camping.

Here's what it'll look like...

Now for a little edge banding and some poly...
