Good I'm glad to know that it does exist. It was getting late and I was trying to get my grocery shopping done quickly. I had to get home so that I could wake the wife up for work then go to sleep. Some people would say that I was kicking her out of bed. 8)

We set up a 10 ft Ez up on the side of our tear. Summer it has screened sides and winter the solid sides. I curtain off one corner for changing/potty room. The rest is living room. Only use potty at nite or inclement weather. This has worked out well for us.

Walmart Blind Outhouse spring fold Tent

Postby sdtripper2 » Mon May 01, 2006 12:27 am

I have this Blind / Outhouse from Wally-World...HERE

I really like the quick versatility. Not allowing your shadow to show is a big plus.:)

Image
It is made with a dark inside so while you are in there most animals or people can't see you, even on a bright sunny day. Some of the other outhouse tents show your shadow while you are inside. This unit folds into a round 2 1/2 feet thin shape for easy storage in its pouch bag, that someone could carry easily. It pops up to sets up in a second and like 4 min with you pounding in 4 stakes at the corners your done. It could double as a hunting blind, and has 3 easy zipper window sides and one door.

This is one easy solution with plenty of room in side to change and have privacy.
It is one fastest setup and sometimes speed is the need. There are no separate tent poles ... the spring fold tent is like some round window screens used in car front windows.

Privacy with no shadows thanks to the black insides gives you peace of mind.

This solution has been one of my best choices.

m/j, thanks for reminding me... I just ordered one of those from Cabela, after I saw your post.... I wanted something bigger than what I was using and that should be dandy.

Fred,,, amen,,, down south we go tree hunting also,, Tears are not big enough to include all the facilities of a big camper, or motorhome. They are a little more comfortable than a tent and are a spiffy place to sit around but teardrops are just luxurary camping, key word here is camping,, sleep inside and do everything,, well just about everything else outside,,, cooking, bathing, nature calling etc, Enjoy your Tear experience but try to park close to the bath house

You'll have to remeber, Fred, the majority of teardroppers are going to be pavement campers. That means little or no privacy the majority of the time they are out.

I'm thinking there are some men who don wanna get up in the middle of the night and escort thier lady to the facilities.

There are also some steep walls in my favorite fishing spot. Usually I am alone but there are times when other boats are around. Of course there is the "No trace left behind" crowd too. 8)

There was a time when I would have laughed at someone who bothered to take an air mattress into the woods, but then I thought it was only camping if the only way in was to walk.

However we live and grow. When considering what I will need for my tear a potty set-up is an absolute necessity. First, it's the only way the wife is coming, second we have young kids, third the little experience I have with campgrounds led me to believe that some of them might get cleaned about once a year. Lastly one of the reasons I want to build a tear is to take it to a few car shows during the year. Some of the shows do have designated areas and usually the facilities are porta-johns, in other words they make you wish for someof those camp ground facilites.

I use mine mainly as a changing room. It's just nice to be able to stand up to put on a dry bathing suit, and likewise to take off a wet one. So, it's a convenience thing..

Of course, Chris, I was laughing at our (my) own circumstance as much as anything else.
When you visit, you'll find the facilities or even organized campgrounds few and far between. Head for the woods. Privacy? No problem. Just ask the bear to move over!
A little Alaskan trivia: If you pee (boys or girls) in your outhouse any more than necessary, you'll be up to your seat before winter's over! Therefore, yellow snow behind the trees. ;)
I've lived without plumbing for years. The consolation? The private view across the valley of Denali from high atop Mt. Murkowski. 8)

Did ya ever hear the one about the bear and the rabbit taking a dump next to each other?

Bear says to the rabbit........does crap ever stick to your fur?

Rabbit says..........No

Bear says......good (as he grabs the rabbit and uses him for TP)

It is ever funnier if you act it out and make the bear voice real big and the rabbit voice real small. :D
