Its probably made by another company and licensed thru EZ UP. They have Riedel crystal stemware at target for 1/5 the price of regular Riedel because its made by someone else. Thats just how it is.

I was just annoyed to find that some companies make lower quality items to sell in their outlet stores...... another sucker's game..

It's too big a job right now, because...and I guess this is the same for all EZ-Ups, but...

The fabric isn't assembled to the frame right out of the box. You first have to attach it to the frame. And although the intructions look simple, I don't know what the heck they're talking about. I hope when I have it laid out in fron of me, the procedure is easier than the way THEY'RE explaining it.

I can tell you this, though--the frame looks REALLY strong. Very large, REAL rigid square channel--this isn't a piece of crap. As far as the fabric goes, how the heck can I judge?

I like the color, so does that help?

Ira, I bought one but haven't opened it yet. I did get a rain check too. So if you and I both thought it was a good one, I could offer to pick another one up with the rain check for someone. I just wanted another opinion.

Plus I haven't even opened the box yet.

I'm looking at Saturday to open it, but here's the scary thing with is:

Why do the instructions tell you to not use it in continuous heavy rain? Is this a kind of disclaimer that ALL of them have, or is this not the best product for us?

Regardless, for 99 bucks, I'm keeping it.

ALSO, check this out.

There was a little promo slip in the box with THIS URL.

http://ezupdirect.com/specialoffer/

It appears EZ-Up has two web sites, and here is where you can see the specs on the Escort.

And they're selling it for $169 on their site! So that makes me feel a little better about the fabric quality.

I'm heading to K Mart right now. I hope they have one left. My wife is getting tired of me spending 25$ to 100$ in little spurts thru the week. I'm gonna tell her I bought this so that we can have some shelter to take the family to the beach. It's not lying because I plan on doing all of my camping at the beach. Wish me luck.

It was an adventure but I got one! The K Mart closest to me didnt have it but they called another store that had two. I had to go to the side of town where shirt and shoes are optional...if you know what I mean. The guy in front of the customer service line at that store was drunk and complaining that his "old lady" was taking too long filling out her application. The lady told him that she was still taking the test. You should have seen his reaction. :scratchthinking:
I figure for the price you cant go wrong. Are you guys gonna buy the stakes to tie it down?

Figure I'll use other stakes, or rig my own sandbags.

Sand is the ONE thing we got plenty of down here.

Here's another approach...Kevin found an EZ-up with an invisible top...hardly any wind resistance, but doesn't block out much UV....Doug
