Brian, I'd love to attend, but I finally got home from your house ;-)

I give my highest endorsement to Brian and Sandi's hospitality and location. I had a great time visiting them and didn't want to leave.

Got a Dutch Oven today at Wholesale Sports. Now I just need to break her in with a few trial meals so I don't embarrass myself at the event :R
Anyone else getting excited for the event in a few weeks?

Take care!

Thanks Maureen
We got home from IRG 42 minutes before you sent this message.
Yes, we encountered some "Fire" problems along the way, which lead to the continuation of the "Detour" theme of this trip.
On the bright side we got to go out to the coast 5 times on this trip while seeing a lot of uncharted roads.
Spent today getting started on preparing the Farm for the upcoming "Gathering"
And Yes, we miss you too!
Put us on your schedule for next year for sure!!!
But, we will see you SOMEWHERE this year. ;)
Good Roads

Brian!
What kind of detours were needed getting home this week??

Looking forward to getting up to your place next week!

How many are planned to attend?

We are looking at heading down to Winthrop after your place and then over to Mt Rainier. We may have to change our plan depending on what the fires are doing. We know there has been a fire down by Cashmere.

Happy Trails!
Stephanie

Good Morning Stephanie
Your return plan is the reverse of what we did coming up after our visit with Greg Longview last Tuesdaon 5 yay. We headed north to 12, then over to Riffe lake to overnight as we left Greg's after 7:00 pm.
Then Wednesday up 12 thru Packwood and up to Mt. Rainier Drove up to the main lodge, then around to Sunshine) Then down the 410 to Enumclaw, and up 169 up to 90 via Maple Valley. That is where we made what eventually turned out to be our first bad choice. I did not want to go out 90 to Cle Elum and over the Blewett (as we did that on our way home from the Fall Brigade) so we headed north at Snoqualmie Falls and up thru Duvall to Monroe. The east on 2 over the Stevens Pass, only to be turned around at the Summit due to the Leavenworth Fire. So back to Marysville to sleep in the Walmart parking lot.
Next morning we were of north again to Sedro Woolley and over 20 to Winthrop to stay at one of our favorite campgrounds (Pine Near). By time we got there the roads West and South were closed and Winthrop was about to lose power due to the fires that took out Brewster and Pateros and eventually closed 97. Friday morning we made the decision to go back to Sedro Woolley and come north thru Sumas then up #1 to hope and over 5 home.
So at this point I don't know what to tell you??? Guest it depends on the Fire situation and what you want to see or where you have never been??
Fastest routes at this time would be east to Biggs and all the way up 97 or up the 5 to Bellingham then take the 542 to Sumas and come over thru Canada ( have you ever been over the Coquihalla #5 or the Hope Princeton #3?
Both are beautiful drives.....5 is fast and dups you on our doorstep and 3 is and older slower highway that drops you onto 97 further south in the Okanagan valley (which you will see on your way home if you go back via Winthrop.
Registrations are coming in...and we are working on prettying up the Farm for you guys!
Looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting some new Teardroppers!
Have a safe trip.....see you Thursday!
May be cutting my hay that day?
Good Roads
Brian & Sandi

Thanks for all the great info! It looks like Coquihalla #5 is the route Mark has in the maps at this time. :)

It looks like at this time (Sunday July 20th) the whole Methow Valley is with out power still. I have tried to get a hold of Anna at the Pine Near and haven't heard back on how they are doing. I hope they are okay.

Mark wants to know if you have ever been to Myra Canyon Park? He's thinking it would be a great day trip--lots of Photo ops! We haven't ever been.

Have not been up there since the Fire of 2003 which destroyed the original tressels (they have been replaced). I used to drive my speedster on the rail beds and across the tressels until the closed everything to vehicle travel. I have walked it and biked it before the Fire.
There are many wonderful photo ops here in the Okanagan.

Well, it has come and gone for 2014!
All of those who attended this years first attempt at a B.C. Gathering, have cleared the driveway!
We miss you guys already and it has only been a couple of hours (we did have a nap before I attempted to post anything here on the TnTTT) since we saw the tail of the last Teardrop heading "Down" the driveway........which is not half as exciting as when we saw the first Teardrop coming "Up" the driveway.
Hope those of you who attended enjoyed yourselves as much by attending as Sandi & I did in having you attend. :wine:
We are already stoked about having you return for the 2nd Annual......which will be billed as the "Farm Gathering" for obvious reasons to those of you that were here this year.
Once again.....Thanks to all of you for making some new memories and this 1st Annual such a success!
Good Roads
