Door molding treatment/aluminum sources?

Postby jmmmn » Thu Apr 28, 2005 7:47 am

:) Hi,

I'm new to the list and about a third of the way through construction of a 5X8 teardrop. I have already found the replies/interventions on the list extremely helpful--thanks. I have two questions now:

1. What have you found to be the best treatments for both door and door jamb mouldings? I have 3/4 inch cabin sides and have bought from the regular sources T moulding. I assume this requires a slot cutting router bit. Is this actually the best way to treat door to cabin application? Other ideas? Has anyone tried a more traditional door jamb treatment? Any comments on door edging, door jamb (i.e. cabin side) trim, etc. would be appreciated.

2. I'm having trouble locating aluminum sources for sheet aluminum for the top of the teardrop in the upper midwest, more specifically the Minneapolis area--any leads?

Thanks in advance for any help you all might lend!

Yours,
Jim
