I just scored big time.

Brought home tonight a 1969 22' Kenskill camp trailer for FREE. Yep I didn't studder F-R-E-E.

Granted the shell is pretty much rotted out and my wife is holding out on using the Avocado sinks. But, there are treasures galore and as a donor it is a venerable treasure trove of stuff.

I was going to match the rims on my truck for it's wheels but it has the original (4) hubcaps, rusty as they maybe the can be rechromed and painted.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated before the sawz-all gets to eat.

My start of the thinking process is like this:
There are some nostalgic pieces that I haven't decided quite yet what to do with. But, the skin will get recycled and the wood will keep the shop warm this winter. The gas lights are headed to the hunting camp box. The kitchen sink may get a new color treatment.

Let the fun begin and the sawdust fly!!

whats wrong with AVACADO???? Very retro color and these are retro trailer. I am building a new teardrop and have installed an AVACADO stove that I salvaged. I think its cool.

Check out some of the sink epoxy systems that are being done now. I think they are epoxy....anyway, you can probably get the sink redone in the color you want. I know that I hired a guy years ago to come in and shoot a bathtub a different color. It was an old cast iron one. Just an idea, rather than bag the whole sink...I have no idea on what it might cost now however.....Doug Hodder

Could be epoxy, could be Acrylic. Thats what I do every day. Reglaze bathtubs. I use an HVLP sprayer and spray a 2 part high solids acrylic. We can also shoot countertops with a multistone (flecstone like) then put a clearcoat on top of that.

I'm already thinking about using some of the "leftover" stuff from work if I ever get around to actually building a tear.

Don't think coatings work well in kitchen sinks, with pots and pans banging around.....

Feet and butts are a lot softer (most times).....

I know what you are saying, but I think that most tear owners don't leave the stuff sitting in the sink like at home, you have to maintain a look... after all, we are the exception to the RV world!!! Doug Hodder

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I think the two main reasons most teardrop owners don't leave the stuff sitting in the sink are 1) We don't want to attract critters and 2) The sink isn't big enough to leave a pot or a pan in, let alone pots and pans

But I will agree with Doug that we are the exception to the RV world and as such have to maintain our high standards!

Thanks Betsey!!! I was just winging it, but I know that I get a lot of people coming around to check out the tear. and it's just about like showing a home that is for sale, don't leave dirty dishes laying around, and I actually make the bed. I guess I need a life......Doug Hodder
