Thanks Bruce. I was over there a few weeks ago and they/the guy that helped me (I use that term loosely) wasn't much help. I need to go back. Thanks. They are suppose to be the best in the city. Do you think 1/2" BB would work even for a door that is 22"x 38"? Not twisted like some thin plywood?

That's how I did mine

Gerdo, I made my doors out of ¾” x 2” Mahogany with ¼” oak ply panels. Strong, light and look like this…

The stuff I got was very straight. I had a 5'x5' piece of 1/2" hanging off the top of my trailer for a week or two. Didn't think about it bowing until I went to cut it and it was still straight. You can just see it in this picture.

And yeah, they're a little stuck up over there. I just get my stuff and don't talk to them.

I started on my cabinets today. Picked up my Baltic Birch ply. Built my frames and made my Birch into small pieces. I took pictures but haven't put them on my gallery yet. Building is more important at this point. The pictures will come.

First trip out with the new cabinets. I've discovered somethings that I need to change.

Gerdo, I was re-reading this thread and now I see you wanted to make your doors like mine. I think.

I used 1/2" Baltic birch for the doors.

Thats almost exactly what I did. I used 9 Ply Baltic Birch.

One of my next projects is to enclose the upper shelf in my Galley. I am using this aluminum sliding door track and 1/4" sliding bipass doors.


There are two different profiles. The taller profile is the top.

I also am waiting for my different door pulls. These are just temporary.

Those are beautiful doors and I really like the sliding track. Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks, I think I've put more time into the cabinets than the rest of the TD. Very time consuming picking and choosing materials then buying them then building then finishing them into the final product. It'll be worth it tho.

Other than The Knobs that I will change out, My cabinets are done. I built and installed my upper cabinets in my galley.


And I built some shelves for in the cabin for books, DVDs, water bottles, glasses, etc.

Funny, this shape reminds me of something but I'm not sure what!
