A Trailer to Haul Livestock - Alpacas

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

Postby NBMike » Thu Oct 20, 2005 9:11 pm

Thanks for the posts. I feel like I got blindfolded and kidnapped... and now need a compass.......

I tried to put a picture of some of my alps.. and I uploaded a pic, but in reading the FAqs, the pic has to be somewhere else public. I then put the pic in as an avator, so don't know how this works.

The comments by Chris are appreciated, since I had been wondering about 4 wheels. Like you say, were one tire to blow, we could still have control. I first started thinking that way, since the farm where these guys came from have a horse trailer - with the 4 wheels - then got diverted. The alps can barely look over the gate top with the top door open.

IraRat, they have to go to get bred - We had the three boys - studs (or Machos) here, but the one breeding did not take, so she went back to spend more time with Caleb - and then to test whether or not she was pregnant. If she is, she spits at the boy, and refuses his advances.

I'll spend some more tiome on the drawing board.

The irony here is that any topic can be discussed if people remain polite. The problem is people let their passions get the best of them. They forget thier manners. That's when the trouble starts.

What do ya do with Alpacas besides breed'em?
Fur, meat, milk, Racing, some gland secretion that cures hemorroids????
If it's racing, how do they hold up in wind tunnel testing??

That's right, Madjack. My llama wool, which is much lower in quality, goes for $16 an ounce, when spun. I can only imagine what alpaca goes for. It's mighty fine wool, for sure.
Chris :D

The tension between what is good enough and what is beyond that creates the space for character to become our work.

Wright, I am sure they would hold up very well in wind tunnel testing...as long as they were well stapped down  ;)
