Everything up here seem to come from the states.....so by the time it gets to the consumer, every capitalistic S.O.B. and government official has allready pulled his piece of the pie.......

John, those are nice openers, but you had to see the openers on the Alligator Tear...........wow :o they were really nice and clean and very innovative. (give credit to Austin Hardware here, not Alligator Teardrops) I thought they were pretty slick. And being black, they wouldn't dominate a woody quite like chrome would. Of course, that's just my opinion, but "that's my story and I'm......................."

I also like the hardware used to hold the door open.

madjack -

Just one more question about your door handles/locks. I don't remember a striker plate anywhere on your door jambs & none of my pix show any thing like that. Also, Scott's pix appear to show the 'tongue' of the latch not extending much past the edge of the door. Does the 'tongue' merely catch behind the trim/weatherstripping of the door jamb? With the push button release, what is the min/max door thickness you could use with this latch/handle? Thanks,

Harvey

Harvey, because we are so darned brilliant(yeah right) we didn't need a striker, the bolt simply catches behind the trim and seal...as Jim is fond of saying.."sometimes being lucky beats the heck outta being good"...as far as min door thickness goes, you could probably mount it onna sheet metal door...dont know what max would be but it is a good bit more than the 3/4' door we are using

Thanks MJ, that's the answer I was hopin' for  . Now I'm just hopin' the other builders here haven't made such a 'rush' on the supply at Austin that they're now 'outta stock' . I'd been plannin' to use the standard square RV inset locksets but at 30 bucks per, plus shipping, I've been kinda holding off hopin' for a miracle :worship: . Maybe this is it 8) .
