FYI
I just found out that the company I bought my 1/8" bendable Italian Poplar, and 1/2" Birch Plywood for my TD sides is now able to make custom sized sheets.

They can do 4' X 10' or larger. They have many types of hardwood veneer plywoods. They have two locations. Buffalo & Syracuse, NY.

Now I need to find a local aluminumn dealer for 4' X 10' sheets so I can start my Modernistic/Cub build.

One of the guys who worked there said his Dad has an original TD. Anyway here is a link:

8) Thanks for the post.

Now I won't have to look for a local plywood source. I live just up the road in B'ville. I'm still in the planning stages of my build. I'm leaning toward a 5'x10' Comet type tear.

I work construction, so I'm going to hit up the "tin knockers" on the job for a source for aluminum.

I got the bug bad. Can't go into Lowes, TSC, HD, HF or the local hardware store without looking for ideas for my tear. ;)

I have a very understanding wife. :D

You might try a non-franchise sign shop for your aluminum. Try to find a smaller shop and ask if you can get in on their next order. We get white .040 aluminum in 4x10's delivered every week or two. They should be able to order mil finished from their supplier, and a smaller shop will benefit from the larger order. Most suppliers give bigger discounts to bigger buyers. Right now we are paying around $50 a sheet.

You might be able to buy directly from the sign supply house also, some of our suppliers sell to the public.

Here's one in Rochester, if that helps?

Ray-I just picked up some 4x10 sheets of .032 aluminum today at Klein Steel over on Military Circle ( GM Circle). It was only 56 dollars a sheet.
They had it all wrapped in cardboard and on a pallet-Forklifted in to the bed of my truck and away I went.
