Has anyone built the 2+2?

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

And if Andrew is interested, I'd be glad to extrude it into 3D so that we can all rotate it in Cortona!

Extrude it! Extrude it!

I'd love to see it in 3-D. I'm also leaning towards the section lower Galley that swings out to the sides, but it may be a little more complicated to build.

Thanks Mike!

Thanks. It is neet. However, my kids are grown, so I guess I will still go with the Wild Goose for my big teardrop.

Well, after really looking into this, I think the 2+2 will still be too heavy. I think I really just need a 2+1. I'm working on a 5' x 5' x 11' TD with a 26"-32" wide bunk that will fold flat against the back wall. Should be able to keep it under 1350lbs. loaded.

The 2+1 sounds like a good plan... it's well within the realm of a teardrop or tiny travel trailer... Rik's RoadToad is a 2+1. You've seen that, haven't you?

You how are you coming along on finding that old CAD software?

Speaking of which... I posted some new pics of the interior of the Road Toad a little while back. Go to: http://webs.lanset.com/rikeller/Trailer ... railer.htm
and then click on "go to interior page"

For example, this photo shows the footwell, the main mattress in the sitting position, and the child's bed at the foot of the mian bed folded up:
Image

...and this one shows the main matress in the sleeping position and the child's bed folded out. The child's bed is 27" wide when unfolded:

...or you can store your sheets and blankets out of sight behind the fold-out like this:

My apologies for graininess of images (and wrinkles in fabric - I didn't bother smoothing those out for ther photo shoot!)

You can also double up the main seating cushions, or configure them in an "L". Lots of possibilities. For a simple overnight trip though, I can just leave it in the sleeping position.

Yep. I checked out Rik's page earlier per Mike's recommendation.

I won't be able to get my hands dirty in the CAD until Saturday night. I'll have some free time then since the wifey will be at a Bachelorette party. I'm buried in work projects in the evenings this week.

I've been sneeking on to T&TTT throughout the day and night to keep my sanity!

Sure, it might take a little while though....What you're looking at is a spring-loaded stainless steel barrel bolt with a socket-type strike plate.

I think that it's model #1024S on this page (scroll down):
http://gatelatchusa.com/s-cart/barrel_bolts.phtml

There's a picture there that shows both types of strike plates that the latch comes with. I used the other kind on the pass-through door to the hatch that you can see in the middle photo of my previous post.
