G'Day

I have a tear under construction in New Zealand and was planning on using the plastic hinge that Classic Finn had a link to a few posts back
(sorry can't find the post or link)

Other than being more difficult to install, as you have to screw it to with the hatch open it looks OK but has any one tried something similar?

I Can't get Hurrican hinge and the postage from the US is expensive. I think your post master must look like this guy  any way I can get the plastic hinge for about $90US for 5m (no cut lenghts) but the left over could do the tounge box or be an excuse to build another tear

There are some pics in my album of progress and I hope to start the alloy next weekend.

Regards Carl

Carl-

I have used the following:

On a 6' wide hatch, been out in the weather for 1 1/2 years, NO problems!

I love it!

Cheers,

Coop

Andrew

Your recall is amazing

The Centaflex 23mm was the one I found locally. I guess I will have to find a few helpers to get it screwed on.

Anyway hope it works, it looks a lot smaller and lighter in the flesh.

Hi Carl,

Here's a view of a plastic hinge on a Woodie. 1st picture is a sample side view of how it was installed. The hinge is a 1/8" X 2". 8 months old and still working good. From http://www.mcmaster.com
