Some of you have used a very light weight insulation.. and Im trying to find it here as well..

Is it with foil and bubbles of sorts or am I totally wrong...  I,ll recognize it if someone replies...if I remember it does have like an aluminum foil on it..

Yes, it has been discussed. The R value per inch is about the same as foam. Foam can help make a tear rigid, bubble insulation will not. The claims about hi R values for foil backed bubble insulation apparently come from using it to enclose an air space, not particularly from the bubble insul itself.

Keep in mind, insulation is only creating dead air space, which is the actual insulator.. the material is just to keep the dead air space in place and keep the air from moving around.

This is from a previous discussion:

"
here's what I am going to use next time for insulation. Foil Bubble Foil, it has an R value of about 15, which is almost 4 times the value of the pink foam board I used in my teardrop. Here's a link http://stores.ebay.com/Radiant-Barrier-Insulation"

Then:

"Those R15 rates are essentially bogus. They come about when the bubble foil is stapled to the underside of an uninsulated joyce space and are dependent on a 6-12" dead air space above the foil. In vertical installation with no air space you get somewhere around R1-2."

I used this insulation to insulate my garage doors. I was easy to work with and seems to work well. Thought about incorporating it in to my design where foam may not be feasable. However I plan to use foam for the structural advantages it offers. :D

I think that roll stuff would have been great to use on my roof. I couldn't squeeze in two layers of rigid 3/4" without kerfing, so I settled on one.

Okay, okay--I know everyone ELSE did it, but I COULDN'T!!!

No big deal in Florida though, but for cold-weather camping, it would be nice to squeeze all of the good stuff you can in there.

I just slept in mine at 23 degrees and it was very comfortable.

All of that foam insulation paid off.

I had planned on using 1/2 foam in layers, but the 1/2 foam is 9/16 and the 1" foam is 15/16. I did rebuild the ribs and increase the thickness of the walls.

Yes prodex is great but beware, do not buy from insulation4less.com , their customer service is horrible!! Especially if you are only buying a few rolls. 6 months has gone by and I still have not received the roll I ordered. Insulation4less "customer support" has been rude in every form of contact phone, email etc.

I even got one email that was just:

uhhh.

Who does this? Why even send and email at all??

Then the insulation4less VP/Customer service person recently wrote me:
"Unfortunately I am not able to pull tracking because tracking info is deleted after 90 days. So please quit saying our company is trying to "screw" you. We sell enough insulation not to screw someone for 1 roll. "

I don't know what else to call it when you order something in March, they say they will send it at the end of March then they don't. Then after you call them and email them 10 times they finally tell you it will arrive in May but it never does... Sure sounds like being screwed to me (especially when the window for reporting a claim with a credit card is 60 days).

Apparently if you are not buying bulk insulation4less doesn't care much about your business. Do yourself a favor and buy the insulation from another company or home depot.

I have spent hours corresponding with information for less, and their unpleasant people and I still am one roll short off of an order from March.
