Ok Ive been searching for Luan here.. and from finding out from the big veneer producers here.. Luan was dumped from the market here long ago..

What is 2nd option...? Ive found nice ply from 1.8mm (even less) and up in thickness...

But finding out No Luan Available...

Heikki...the ONLY reason luan is used is because it is cheap and thin...personally, I don't use it very often preferring to hunt for a thin Birch...any thin ply will work as well and probably look/finish better........

Ok I was going absolutely nuts here in search of it..even hunting for another name that it may possibly be found under but no luck till I called the plywood companies that make the ply here and they said its been off the market for years. I didnt know the reason for its popularity there in the States...

Yup I sure did find some real nice ( and thin) to every thickness imaginable here... And nice grain at that...

To top it off its a hair over 5 foot in width... Perfect...

So I thought to bring up the question on it...

Thank You Madjack
