Okay, But how do attach the hinge to the hatch attach points and still make it strong enough to support the movement and the weight of the hatch. I was always under the impression that the real strength of a piano hinge was the mutiple attach points (lot of tiny screws) and that sounds like alot of studs to me. Way to much work, Remember "KISS" method of design and building. Not to take anything away from your design, it is interesting.

You'd have to put a little nut underneath each stud where it comes thru the hatch, or the roof.

Assuming you put a stud every 6" or so, on a 48" wide trailer you'd have about 18 little studs.

I'm completely out of my mind..I'll be using pivot points for my galley, with a piece of rubber across the gap to seal it..i'll have pics soon.
