For me A/C is a Must Have. Growing up and living in the South I know how opressive the heat and humidity can get. Humidity is the worst part, having been away from home (FL) for several years I went back for a couple weddings one summer. It felt like I never dried off, even with the car's A/C running I never felt dry. And people here in Central Texas complain about high humidity, they don't know about humidity.
Also, I go by the old saying, "It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it."
The unit I plan on using us under $80 so it isn't that much of an added expense. The only big expense will me my brain cells, thrying to figure out how to mount, vent, drain, and exhaust it.
