Hopefuly you can do something with this.
This system we use for over years in Europe.
It has a constant + cable for loading and using during trips.
If you like I try to give translations.

Thanks clkelley564,

For that great set of instructions for an isolation circuit for charging the tear battery.

Those instructions are so complete and I copy/pasted them into a Word Document and saved it in my Teardrop folder. I will definitely be using them when I wire mine.

Thanks for such a complete documentation of how to do it. You just saved me the trouble of figuring it out myself.

I know that $94.00 seams high for a charging system but this system is complete and you never have to disconnect anything to keep from draining your tow vehical battery and it's noly $35.00 more and no running around to parts stores trying to find everything to put a system togeather. Just my 2 cents.

Another, even higher-cost (but even more flexible) option: A dedicated DC>DC charger such as this unit pulls comfortably under 20A, so can be used directly off of most tow vehicle's auxiliary circuits. Its benefit over passive systems? Since it will accept a wide range of input voltages, you can charge from another 12V battery, e.g. as in using a small "emergency jump-start kit" to top off the camper's battery each evening, then recharging the jump-start kit's battery the next day when driving the car.. Useful for extended says in strict "no-generators" campgrounds which won't let you idle your car to add watts back into a flat battery.

Here's a web site i've been looking at for this:
http://www.trailer.ws/trailer-wiring.php
But after looking at and listening to all this wiring talk, i think i'll just carry a plug in battery charger with me. In my case the battery will just be used for short overnight stays.
