I wish this type of fender were readily available over here, withoutb paying out a weeks wages just for one. I think i will end up going down the chequer plate look for mine

Are there any aftermarket fenders for any of the fiberglass kit cars that could be modified to suit your needs? You're right, they aren't inexpensive. For me, they are worth it for the look I wanted. Shippint to the UK would be killer on them! Good luck with whatever direction you go. Doug

I was confused!

When I originally read your post I thought you just cut off the vertical flange and then 1 inch of fender. Now I understant that you cut an L shaped piece and had an inch of good bonding surface along the lenght of the bond. I now agree that a layer of glass wouldn't add a whole lot as you have a lot of surface area bonded together already.

Good job. I just didnt' get it.
