Dean...a very big THANK YOU for being the guinea pig with the SharkHide...I have been wondering for many years about it's effectiveness on a tear and it appears to do what they say...keep us informed on it's longevity...thanks again :thumbsup:

Thanks, Dean. I'm going to look into the mill aluminum option now. Not sure which way I'll go. Maybe aluminum for tear #2. (My wife never reads this.)

I have a question about the sharkhide. Does it improve the finish or does it just preserve the finish you already have.

Thanks for the compliment! And no, the sharkhide only protects the finish you already have.

I'm certainly no expert, but from all the reading I've done here and other places, if your mill finish is already messed up, the only options are really polishing (mirror finish) or acid washing (white finish). There is really no way to restore a mill finish, as it's created as part of the manufacturing process. Once it's gone, there's no way to bring it back.
