Hi Wrangler

The only problem I see with aluminum built vs. stick frame in thermal transfer resulting in condensation problems. Some guys on this board have welded up steel frame tears and noted that in the morning you cold tell wear the frame members were by the rows of water droplets forming on the interior walls.

I think those big motor homes bond a huge filon covered insulated panel to whatever frame if any on top of the standard chassis. If you go to the filon site you see an entire trailer side 20-30 feet long all made in one piece.

Junkman,

In the aviation business it's common to use epoxy type adhesives for bonding aluminum structures together without the use of mechanical fasteners. This makes for a very smooth surface. The down side is that the products used are expensive and a little difficult to use. The conditions required to achieve a full strength bond may not easily be duplicated in the average garage.
