how do you secure the outside skin to the spars and sides?
glue and nails or staples or screws

I'm planning on using a sheet of 1/8 ply on the outside no aluminium just a woody
I have a brad nailer would that be enough with the glue to hold it?
or should I go and buy an air stapler as well?

also does the edge have to have some sort of strip over it? does anyone have any pics of their woody roof

First, 1/8" seems skimpy, unless you are using battens on it.....

If you are using natural wood, I would use glue only, with battens, and battens around the parimater(sp) where the wall hits the roof.. but, I would use counter sunk/plugged screws around the edge.
