Show us your awning

I am trying to put together the plans for my awning. I have a general idea of what I want to do.

But in the mean time if you could show us your awning and/ side room that would be great.

All three awnings are suspended from Kedar/awning rail. The rear tarp now has mosquito netting. All are 6' wide at the trailer and the rear one is 14' long by 14' wide at the widest.

So its held up by the poles and tension from teh ropes. ok very nice.

Simple to put up easy to drop an end in bad weather and since the Kedar rail is continuous on three sides, it is a rain gutter, all the rain goes off the front. The two side tarps are Kelty Car tarps which are 11'6" wide at the widest and 11'6" long and as i said 6' wide at the tear.

ShawdowCatcher I saw the drip rail that has the awning insert and I am thinking of using it.

A big tent with 2 entrances is good enough for us, one entrance is attached to the TD

While neither fancy nor sophisticated, I was "snug and smug" under my tarp/awning during eight rainy days on my tour of the Great Northwet last month.



Shows the rear awning and the side vestibule. The vestibule frame is made from electrical conduit. The rear awning relies on the teardrop at one end and two tarp poles at the other. Both are tall enough for me to stand under. The vestibule will get sewn awning fabric sides and top this winter.

Homemade. Working on a matching, bigger one for the side.

This is my awning, before I did some adjustments. It works by running a hemmed rope through a track on the trailer, then hooks into a rod held up by some bendy (graphite?) poles.

It still needs more adjustment -- hard to get it high enough for people over 5 foot 4. Made it from some sunbrella fabric I ordered. Sewed on the sewing machine breaking lots of needles and thread, then used some seam seal on the stitches.

it's relatively waterproof -- biggest issue in a storm is that the water pools in the center so you need to periodically dump the water to the side.

I started mine today and going with PVC. allows me to be modular and attaches to the trailer nice. using footmen brackets to hold the supports and a C-channel.
