T Molding Help!

Hello I am a new teardrop builder and brand new to the forum. I have almost finished my teardrop and im to the doors and I am having a lot of issues. I originally bought 1" aluminum T bar and it was incredibly strong and I had no chance of bending it around my doors. Licking my wounds I ordered thinner T-Bar from McMaster Car http://www.mcmaster.com/#1668t72/=sv4yvy. Again still too stiff to bend. Still tried to bend it (much heat applied) and of course it kinked. I used both previous options to save money on shipping and keep it cheaper than shipping it from a teardrop part supplier. Well now I have spent about the same as if I would have just ordered through a teardrop part supplier. I am wondering about where people have bought their T molding, I have heard carpet suppliers may have it? I haven't put my build into a better online album but here is my build on facebook. Trim molding from RV suppliers is generally going to be annealed, probably a 1000 or 3000 series alloy (softer), whereas architectural shapes, such as the general purpose listed in MC, are likely to be 6061-T6 (3/4 hard).

Glad that you are building, but highly recommend that you spend some time doing research on this sight. There is such a wealth of knowledge in these pages that I would have never begun my build w/o the support and info shared.

Visited a carpet store in my hometown. Had just what I was looking for. Soft T molding that bent with ease!

All my trim came from Grant Whipp at http://www.teardrops.net/teardroptrailerparts.html He's got a wealth of knowledge and a great guy to boot.
