New spin on pvc clamps

I know some of you folks use the homemade pvc pipe clamps.... Thought you might be interested in this, as I hadn't seen the ones with handles for better leverage before...

Judging by the picture and assuming 1" dowel rods, looks like 4" Schedule 40 (aka sewer drain).

Could be 1/2" rods and like 2" pipe instead

The glued blocks are 1x material (3/4") and the dowels appear to be the same size so I would say 3/4 dowels. If you scale the picture on the screen it appears to be 4" pvc. Wall thickness shows it to most likely be schedule 80 pipe. I made some curtain clamps like that a few years back, they worked well ( and can pinch the hell out of your hand if you don't watch out) Wish I had thought to add the dowels to open them with.

They are cheap enough....how resilient are they? Once spread open, do they loose clamping strength? That's cool....
