How to seal/trim bottom of walls

Postby javajaws » Fri Nov 28, 2014 8:28 pm

I'm in the design phase of my teardrop build and haven't been able to come up with a good answer for this:

My walls will extend to the top and sit flush with the top of the frame - basically the frame will be visible once the walls are complete and sheathed with aluminum. I know to seal the bottom edges of everything with Epoxy - but I have seen some builds and manufacturers put some kind of aluminum trim along the bottom as well, like the Moby 1:

Any ideas what to use down there? I want to make sure that bottom edge gets sealed up nice and tight, but without extending the aluminum down to cover the frame (for aesthetics mostly).

Use some of Grant's edge trim. http://www.teardrops.net/teardroptrailerparts.html

I don't recall if the trim on the bottom is 5/8" or 3/4":

Which edge trim are you referring to? Is this a flat trim or more of an L shape (tucked under the wall slightly)?
