gluing station

I am getting to a point in so many wood working projects that it almost makes sense to buy my titebond glue on gallons. I have also started using a modified basting brush to apply the glue. What is a good way to keep just enough glue on the workbench so I don't waste any glue. Thanks.

I always buy Tightbond II in the gallon size, it just makes economical sense.
It can last over a year as long as it's in a cool area away from freezing.
I have a pint bottle with tip on the bench for immediate use and store the gallon in a cabinet.
I got the bottle at Rockler but I'm sure an old glue bottle will serve the same purpose.
I'm not a brush user just the finger tool or a small bondo spreader for large areas, it works well.
I have a plastic container with lid at the bench filled with clean water and rag for wiping any glue squeeze out.
I do use disposable acid brushes for small areas where contact cement is applied.
