Door Handle Clearance

Postby Diemjoe » Sat Mar 28, 2015 10:52 am

I received by door windows and door latches the other day. I thought my door was bigger than it is I guess because the window feels too large for the door for the latches to work. Maybe I am missing something but is there a solution to this dilemma or do I just eat the shipping and restocking fee and go for a smaller window?

The Door is 3/4 in plywood and there will be 1/4 plywood skin on both sides. Does anyone else's handles overlap the window. I like the look of a centered window but am wondering how far I can slide it over and still stay structurally strong. The more I move the window over to the opposite side of the door, the less clearance I'll have for the hinges.

Thanks for any insights.
