Axle location/Spreadsheet

Postby TNSean » Wed Apr 22, 2015 10:19 pm

When using the spreadsheet to figure out axle location, tongue weights etc.....

What approximate weight value would you use for the galley?

I am using 75lbs for a 100ah battery in enclosure to figure out if I am going to mount it in the galley or on the tongue (most likely on the front), but I am not sure how much to use for everything else in the galley.

Anyone want to take a guess of how much weight you carry in the galley? Maybe with an ice chest and without.

Thanks for providing the spreadsheet, it is a big help.

I am building a 5'x8' benroy on a NT bolt together 5'x8' trailer.

I added up the weight of the gear using weights from Amazon and the like. For the cooler, you can probably figure about one pound per qt of volume.

After running a bunch of different numbers I am going to go with 35" from rear. Seems the most flexible. After I build I will weigh and adjust loading as needed.

64% forward of axle and 36% rearward a good combination that should have great highway manners and should even back well.
