How to do a skylight?

Postby ukewarrior » Mon Apr 27, 2015 8:40 pm

My daughter has asked if I can put a skylight in the top of her camper.
She wants more than the vent.

I'm beginning a build of a simple/rimple type on a 4x8 HF chassis.

So, is a special window needed? Can I just use a non-opening RV window like this:

Thanks for any helpful suggestions and experiences in advance

You could use a access hatch from a boat. They are designed to be used on a boat deck, so should work well on the roof of a teardrop. You can find several different styles on ebay.

That would work but probably overkill as boat stuff is always expensive and they r typically designed to be walked on without damaging... something u dont need to worry about. Id say a non opening RV window would be a cheaper option, if you r just looking to let light in and not air.
