You might want to research the "Therm-electric" coolers in another thread before buying. Many of us tested them and I bought a large stainless steel model that's collecting dust in the shop. They don't cool well at all and constantly draw about 3/amps of power which will quickly deplete even the largest of battery's.

I have no personal knowledge, but I agree the feedback here has not been positive. But, they do look good..

Wife likes that Coleman Stainless Steel Cooler - The looks anyway..
Yikes we dont want the Cooler to drain the entire battery...thats no good.

Norm I was looking at the same thing this morning..That would really be a good idea... May have to adjust it lower though.. But I think if nothing else an extra piece could be sewn to fit the teardrop size...

Any one of you folks have a Cooler that youve been happy with?

A lot of us seem to have gone to "5 day" coolers, which is a lie... But, they are better insulated and hold ice longer... We put a plastic container inside to keep dry things away from the ice, and the ice around it, with cans and containers that can get wet in the ice... then we can drain it as we go....

I think ice lasts us about 3 days, but it depends on what you put in it (is it cold already?), how often it gets opened, and what the outside temperature is.... in Finland, you might need it to keep things from freezing at night../g/

the waeco,s you linked to are very good units...lots of truckers here in the US use them. They are not thermoelectric units but rather real refrigerators...however they will suck a single battery dry overnite...overhere a lot of folks use the "double insulated" ice chests from Igloo, Coleman and such...one for drinks and one for foodstuffs...it has been found that is you put some thin foam weatherstripping on the seal areas and a small pull down latch on them that it will increase their efficiency even more...ther are a lotta threads on the subject...chesk this one out to begin with

p.s. Heikki, the Waeco units are manufactured in Hong Kong(Ithink) from German components and sold all around the world...I did a google search and found web site in many languages including German, English, Swedish(?) among others...they should have lots of info on units available in your area...they are rather pricey here in the States...

That enclosure would look nice on the side of a TearDrop, I just don't know about the $535.00 price tag, not including freight.
