113% Slumbercoach?

Postby joestrom » Sat Aug 22, 2015 5:33 pm

I'm on a search for the perfect woody profile. Comments and opinions on my latest scheme welcome:
Enlarging the Slumbercoach profile by 113% maintains it's lovely proportions, and yields a body 10' long by 54" high. Plan is for 5' width. The curves on the bottom of the profile are maintained by using a 6" skirt, that will also cover the trailer frame. The non-functional decorative 6" skirt at the bottom is made up for by adding that 6" back in at the top with an extra strip of plywood. Plywood seam covered by a piece of woody trim.See photo below, the dashed lines indicate where plywood skin joints occur. Cabin space ends up with about 45" headroom.
Am I missing anything obvious here, aand does tis make any sense at all?
Thanks, Joe

Looks awesome to me! The Slumbercoach is a great design. In surprised we don't see it more. You'll appreciate the extra 6" in height.

I think the curved top to the door is part of the Slumbercoach's beauty, so I would keep that if possible. As it would just curve into your 6" top strip, it would fit your design, though the door couldn't be made from the cutout of the lower panel.
