Just sold a 5x8, sad to say had door issues again. One the deadbolt lock won't release key when locked, the other doesn't want to latch properly, keeps poping open. Make sure you test completely before install.

Have you contacted Frank about them?

I had an issue with mine leaking at the seal.. I had another person who has built a few tell me "oh yeah, put a dab of sealant here and there". THat fixed the issue, but that was after a couple quarts of water was in my trailer.

Thanks for posting the info.

Took delivery of two doors the other week, I only tested one but it seemed fine. Anyone else have a really sharp edge on the interior window trim? Thinking I need to cover it with something.

I have not contacted Frank, I have purchased eight doors too many issues, gut says time to find new vendor. Shouldn't have to put a dab of sealant, repaint where they weren't sprayed and deal with lock issues at 300 plus a door. Just gonna move on. I don't know if other vendors have similar issues, but I would hope that at that price point higher quality could be attained.

Keep us posted on what you shift to. I've used three sets of Vintage Techs doors and they were fine. But of course spendy.

Checkout challenger doors. I have contacted them, and plan to use a set on my current build. Quite a bit cheaper than the ones from frank. ( my quote for 26x32 doors, shipped was 480) I saw a little guy at a TJ gathering a couple weeks ago, it had challenger doors, so I know they must make/sell a lot of them.

Checkout challenger doors

Brian:

I'm struggling to find a teardrop door on their site. Got a link?

Thanks,

Tony

It was a little difficult for me too. I had to call them, and they sent me photos...which were photos of a commercial manufacturer that used their doors.

This is one that they sent me.

This is a photo of the door jamb on a little guy that I took.

From the looks of things it looks like a series 805 door. Although on their website that looks a little different. Look under RV- and 950 series. If you scroll through the photos, their is one there that looks similar.

He quoted me 205 for the door (410) , 20 packing for 2 doors, and 50 shipping, so 480 total.
