Constructing a false floor

Postby bobwhite215 » Tue Sep 27, 2016 9:54 pm

Getting ready to begin my build and I am considering building a false floor. Wondering where I should place the insulation. Would I be better off placing the insulated sandwich floor directly on the frame, or should I just go with a sheet of plywood on the frame, and then use the sandwich as the interior floor. Any thoughts?

zip wall OSB with the fiberglass face down then a layer of closed cell insulation then more zip or plywood. The cupalo on my tiny house caboose has been in the weather 4 and 1/2 years and was left with a raw cut edge all that time. THIS past weekend I finally sealed the cut edge with 100% silicone and coated it with spray rubber coating from Rustoleum and I was quite surprised how well it had held up all this time. I am lining the shower area of the caboose with more insulated Zip wall before I tile it. This zip has been outside since March and it looks great. The short of this is ,cut it ,seal the edges carefully ,and don't worry it's a great product.
Growing older but not up !
