Loctite PL FastGrab

Anybody have any experience with this stuff? Bought a tube to glue up some side boards for my floor. It was horrible. Hardly could get it to come out of the tube (and yes, I punctured the seal). Had to squeeze so hard on the caulk gum my hand hurt. And what did come out was like hard little worms that just didn't want to spread out when the boards were brought together.

I think kcstudly used this extensivly.
Polyurethane adhesives a notorious for being hard to use in cold condirions, ive had the same problem with sikaflex.
Try storing it somewhere warm before use

Yes, it is easier to use when warm. It also helps to have a better quality gun, one that has a mechanism that multiplies the force (but takes more squeezes to do the same amount of adhesive.). Freshness also makes a difference. I only buy it from high volume dealers and do not keep much on hand.

I used 8x but I don't know if it was labeled fast grab. I didn't have any problems but it was summer and warm. I did notice the 8x is a little thicker than 3x.

I don't remember if the stuff I used was "fast grab" but it was the premium label. I don't just puncture the seal once, I do several and try to do them in a circle (if you look in the cut off nozzle tip you can see the foil). Then when I first squeeze some out I check to see if a piece of the foil comes adrift and pluck it out (with disposable rubber gloves or a rag). Sometimes it comes out, sometimes it stays in, but there is never a question that the seal has been well broken.

I also tend to cut the tip at least 1/4 inch. If I want a thinner application I use a small notched trowel I made from those fake credit cards you get as junk mail (or an old credit/healthcare card).

I haven't ever used it in really cold weather, but when I have used it it is about the consistency of creamy peanut butter, perhaps a little looser, not quite mayonnaise.

The fast grab was terrible. Had to cut open the tube to get it out and was impossible to spread. I switched to the PL Premium and it was much easier to use.
