Install fan after skinning exterior

Postby Sunderwood » Mon Jun 04, 2018 9:07 pm

Hoping to get some help as I can't conceptualize how to attach the fan with wiring after I skin the exterior. I have my wiring for the lights running down the middle between the ceiling and eventual roof. Do I just pull the ends through the hole for the vent and then solder I after I install the aluminum? Then shove the wires back in?

I'm sure there is an easy way and I'm over thinking it. thanks for your help in advance.

Not exactly sure what the question is.

The fan is typically mounted to a framed hole -- roof joists and cross framing -- and is installed after the skin is applied. The AL skin covers up to the edge of the fan's framing. There is a complimentary cover for the inside.

With most fans, there is generally space inside the housing for the wires. Not sure if you can access the wires from the top or the bottom.

Worse case you need some room in the ceiling to push the wires back into.

I am assuming that the lights are being controlled at the light itself as the fan will be on even when the lights are off. So the lights and fan are sharing the same fuse.
