Simplest way to explain: Use a stick & trammel points or a stick compass for the open & closed length of the strut. If you don't do a full scale drawing for a mock-up you're screwed & need to look into the "swiss cheese" method of hatch mounting & hole plugging as seen on the internet...

Zactlly what I was lookin for as far as a good splainin of how to do it! I got it now 100%.
Plus your first post came right before I assembled the ribs. I mean like minutes.
So I was able to just flat trace a rib to some cardboard, rather than trying to do it to an assembled frame.
