I wonder how many of these tears on the older posts are still being used and enjoyed. I often wonder that as I go through the Hall of Fame

I will be picking mine up next month. Some of you have amazing skills. Even though mine isn't home built I still think it looks pretty.

No math or computer, just some 1/8" x 3/4" x12' wood strips and some beer.125529t126414

Kaz,
Yeah a brick patio was our drawing board, and a reasonable amount of beer to help us along the way. :)
Take it easy.

No compass needed, just grabbed a marker and played with the lines until it looked good to me.

Dunno how I messed this one when it was new or the 'reborn' thread later?? When I wuz searching for a suitable profile back in 2006 I sorta combined the Ultra Lite & the Gruman & came up with what we liked pretty well. I used a 4X8 HF 1800# trailer & built on that with 6" overhang on each side & a few inches front & rear. Built the floor separately & the cabin ended up 114" long, 60" wide, & outside dimension is 58" high including the trim. Built the cabin sides using 4X8X1/8" ply on 'stick' framing with 1/4" oak ply for the interior. Kept the 13" HF tires'n wheels & fabricated 'half' fenders (from a Northern Tool diamond tread Jeep fender) to keep it from looking so 'bare' This pic ain't a true profile (don't have any of those with the fenders & tongue box) but you can get a pretty good idea from this one. We've towed it nearly 30K miles in10years & thoroughly enjoyed it. Have attended gatherings all over & if I can get healthy again, we'll try some more... We have a different TV now but this is what we started with & it did great for a couple of years. You can see it from the beginning in my gallery.
