Here is the ultimate side tent website. I just received the Tour Action model and can't wait to use it.

The MONACO also looks good. So what did it cost in US dollars with shipping?

Have a good day.

$139.00(they are now $169.00) + $25 for shipping. I bought it from Eurovans.com on sale. It offers a lot more than the Kelty carport which was my first choice until I discovered the Tour Action tent.

Tiki, did you try to set this up yet? This looks great, but a few questions:

How do you attach it to your side? Also, what the heck are they talking about with an optional "sleep cabin/compartment?" And is it realy optional or included--conflicting info from the two sites here that I visited.

It looks REALLY cool and roomy. And perfect for hanging out in during bad weather days.

It's awesome (check out my album) , it took awhile to set up but I am sure it will be quicker next time. It attaches to the roof via 3 removeable suction cup adapters, so no hardware needs to be permanently attached. The optional room is good for a separate sleeping compartment or bathroomn area, I didn't purchase that option.

It is very durable and stout.

The suction cups actually adhere to the wood?

And the next question about the floor, from what I gleaned from the web site:

Is the floor a separate piece that snaps on?

Yes and yes. The suction cups adhere to my polyurethane top, another way to attach the tent is via straps or bungees. They connect to the awning pole and then can be attached to a fixture on the trailer. The floor is separate, it makes it easier to clean.

I REALLY like that idea. First, not only easier to clean, but probably makes it easier to break down the whole thing. Second, I bet there will be times when you don't even NEED the floor.

I did see one here someplace... Was it in someones photo gallery that was made exactly to the profile of the teardrop....Thats what I was planning tot do but Im going to have a Clear Plastic or Urethane window
sewn into it for light as well... And possibly so it can be removed and have a mosquito screen to replace it...

Heikki, is this the one you saw? It won the best idea award at Minden.

Thats the one... telepathy... Thats what were planning to do on ours...
We really like that idea... ;)

Were talking about having one on both sides eventually...That will give
space for a lil cot or 2 on one side and the other for the entrance..

I think it it will work nicely.. Im going to have a photo for you of the special corner moulding that they use here to keep the side room in place
without additional screws, or added snaps...I dont know how to exlain it
but its very handy...as soon as I can get there I,ll post it...

Kevin do you know how that is installed to the sides? or with what?

OK...I know, really old thread. But...does anyone still have some info on how the tent is attached to the sides of the Tear? The links are all dead. I have been thinking about just this kind of setup and the only thing I can come up with is something like a flexible version of the female side of the Hurricane Hinge. Am I close with this, and does something like that exist commercially?

Im not sure how the folks above attatched the tent but I do love it still.

That has been my favorite for a longtime. :D

This is what I used to install the tent without having to drill holes and it works super. I know you have it available in the States also. Just cant remember who else has used it. Its called Awning Moulding. Here its found on majority of the caravans.

I used the tent awning moulding on the left ;)

and here is the same awning with our flag stand inside of it.

Hello Classic Finn,

Nice work!  How flexible is that moulding? Will it bend enough to form fit around an entire profile (trailer up, that is)?

Even though this thread has some dust on it Gage are you or were you talking about this tent. ? I found the Monaco tent by Reimo.

http://www.reimo.com/fin/93670-monaco_k ... fuer_vans/ The website has different languages. Lots of different tents and accessories there. ;)

and here is another.

What type of profile do you have? It is flexible however if you look at the front of my lower radius on our Voyager its too sharp as I found out. However it doesnt have to go that low by no means as I did and it damaged it slightly. So I cut a portion of it off at the end and now its good in my opinion.

It installed nicely and with flexiblity on other areas of the tear except the real sharp radius.

The welt comes in 6 or 7 millimeter diameter.
