Hi,

I first posted here ages ago but finally, over lockdown I managed to get around to beginning my build.

Pics here....

In image 6.....the battens I'm using to secure the walls to the floor....are they big enough? I've seen other builds using the same size....I have screws every 3 inches plus wood glue but would a larger batten be better?

Have you done anymore? I'm trying to figure out how to design the rear galley hatch. I'm having mine open like the Valiant, just not sure how to lay it out.

I'm not adding a galley to mine, I want to sleep 4 and be able to slide kayaks in the back.

I am planning on adding an overhead opening door though....only framed it so far....

window cut, PMF going on.....messed up the 1st side a bit, quite wrinkley, 2nd side much better as I wet it down immediately with diluted glue.
planning on multiple coats of paint to hide my wrinkles as much as possible... though I might inject the larger ones with glue to fill any cavities.

Which kind of paint is best? I've found lots of masonry paint that's waterproof and flexible but is it ok to paint directly onto pmf?
