Mike, what about using OSB ( love the mock UP )where you screw the osb to a "real wood"frame through the side, and then attach everything to the frame mechanically anyway , no screwing in the end grain ..... that didn't sound right ...

Nah... it's too heavy. If you are going to have a frame anyway, just screw some luan to it... similar to what this guy did with masonite...

I'm getting my plywood skins smoothed out. A few of the crappier pieces have some rough spots or cracks that need filling. for large areas, the water putty I bought works well. You mix it with water, 3 pts putty, 1 pt water. I had to add a little more putty to get it thick enough to work with. One warning. Sand lightly. It sands off much quicker than bondo or Elmer's wood filler. You can hand sand it with sanding sponges easily. I'm about ready to spray my first coat of poly sealer on all of the skin pieces (60% of which are already installed on the trailer).

When this project is over, I probably won't want to pick up a power sander again for quite a while.

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But, that gets boring...so I go back to being me.
