Finding more places to store things.

I wanted to share a few storage ideas I came up with for my camper.

These may not be anything new but I wanted to share them.

First I wanted a full size broom to take with us to sweep out the side tent
and to sweep off the tarps before we pack up to go home.
I made some mounting brackets and attached it below the frame.
The broom is held in place with a cotter pin.

I also decided to use the "tongue space" for alittle more storage.
I screwed galvanized wire mesh below the tongue.
This space will of be used for items that can get wet.
I threw a few items in as an example.
I was surprised at what I could fit in that small space!

To cover this area I built a "multi-purpose" cover/deck.

I can mount/strap a variety of things to the deck depending on our needs. For example:

Our cooler

A toolbox/storage box

I am also designing a tongue mounted box to hold my A/C that can be removed when not needed.
I planned for an A/C unit while building so I have solid wood in the front of the Trailer for
future duct work or a "cargo door/access panel".

These trailers are small so every little bit of extra storage space is needed!

Anyone else have other storage space ideas???

I've been thinking about mounting a piece of 3" or 4" PVC pipe with screw on caps under my trailer, to use for storing fishing poles, canopy poles, or anything else that is long and thin.

A neat idea that I have seen on a lot of trailers is to weld a short (4") nipple somewhere on the trailer. Your registration can be put in a ziplock bag, rolled up and put in the nipple, with a pipe cap screwed on to secure it. Never have to worry about loosing the trailer registration again!

I'm gonna use one of those shallow under bed storage unit with a lid, mount a couple 1" c channels under the door for extra storage. When on the road just lay inside TD and we get to where ever, just slide it underneath....
:worship: I think it will work out OK

Thank you for the positive feedback.

I think I have had more fun building this little trailer than anything I have done in the past!!

Camping in it is great too. :)

That's what I'm planning.... one of those Sterlite/Rubbermaid "under the bed" storage or "sweater box" storage with snap on lid. It could hold the ground mats, etc and sit inside til I get to the campground. Then when empty just slide it under the teardrop, under the door area (I have no footwell) Then at night , that will be a great place to keep shoes... so they stay dry and no raccoons take off with them!!!

Idea #2: I don't know where to get them, but kind of a netting type , stretchy "bag" that you could attach to the ceiling, holding towels, clothes, coat, magazines etc... but you won't hurt your head bumping on it.
I don't know if they sell a material like that , I could make mine to fit the width of the cabin.

Cargo netting or mesh

Julie... check boating supply stores (West, BOAT/US,etc.). A lot of boaters use mesh storage "hammocks" that hang on the wall or from the ceiling. Just like a hammock only much smaller... I plan using one.
