You can always [right]click on the pic, then go to properties, and copy the link and paste it as an image. You click the Img box at the top, paste the link then click "close tags"

I am trying to use this one. It's a GE unit 5000BTU and I got it at Sams for $85.00.
I tried to resize this pic to make it smaller. Hope this works.

Yep, bought my 5K BTU at Lowes for $76, but it doesn't have a remote.

I have the same unit that Woodbutcher has. I got it from Lowes for like $78. I have seen the same unit labeled as a GE, Goldstar (the one I have), Haier, and Harbor Breeze. I think it just depends on where you buy it.

Do you guys experience any vibration problems while towing , or is your ac "soft" mounted ???I got a Kenmore from the Big K ...for a croaker...

My front mounted a/c has 2 winters and 10,000 miles on it with no problems.

btw, how much does a remote add to the cost? My next one will have a remote, if possible.

I've got the 5200 Amana with remote, under a hundred bucks at HD.

But it's not so much the remote that I think makes it a good value--it's the digital thermostat.

IK bought a Haier 5000 BTU that looks a lot like Woodbutcher's GE. It also has the top flow which I wanted. I paid less than $90 for it at Target. It has no remote, which is fine. All I have to do is sit up to reach the controls when I'm in bed, or turn around if I am sitting on the couch. With the top flow, it will be blowing over my head, not blowing on the back of my head, when in couch mode.

Beware of Haier

I bought one of their countertop dishwashers for work and used it 8 times
and the piece on top inside that sprays water to the dishes split.
Ordered a new part 3 times and they sent the bottom 3 times. NFG

Paid the same price 165.

Just threw it out this week.

Too late...I bought it. It will get very little use, probably no more than 5 or 6 times a year, so I hope it holds up. It won't be like it gets used daily in the house.

I would try to get the lowest BTU A/C unit I could find. People have been talking about short cycling of even the 5000btu units.

As others have said... inexpensive small A/C's can be had for significantly lower cost than the mail order one you listed.

For home use I picked up a 5000BTU unit that has a remote, digital temp control, timer, and for less than $100.
