FRP - Filon source and paint

Postby Renee » Thu Jun 01, 2006 10:44 am

HI! I've been lurking for quite some time - your forum is incredible! I was wondering is someone would have sources for FRP panels or Filon panels/skins and what paint works best for them (I want a two-tone with forest green on the bottom) Thanks! Renee in Iowa

Hey Renee , welcome to the madness!
I used FRP on my TD & am very happy with it. I have been parking it outside all the time & have yet to have any UV issues as has been dicussed on this forum. It washes up very nicely & no stains,( its parked under a cherry tree!) I found the panels at HD & Lowes. About 28 to 30. bucks each.
Check out my album for pics. Cause we all love da pics! I'm sure you'll hear this again soon! Good luck with your build!

Renee-

Hey & welcome!

Best source I've found for Filon:

As far as paint, try the relatively new spray paints for "Plastics" only. I believe Krylon & Rustoleum both make a version.

Try it on a sample before committing!

Cheers,

Coop
