New Raindrop 560 Ultra

Here's where you can talk to the manufacturers about custom built trailers, etc...

Fantastic!! It's so gorgeous and functional.

You are going to have the best fall taking that around California.

Do you have any specific trips planned?

I'd be clearing all my weekends and devoting ample vacation time to savoring that work of art.

And I have really enjoyed the build and finish photos. Thank you very much for keeping us updated.

Congrats on the Raindrop!

We just got one earlier this year in a private sale and love it! Whereabouts in CA are you? We're in the bay area, will we be seeing you around? We're trying to get arranged to go to the SLO campout, hope to see you there!

What made you choose this one over the others? I have just started my research and there are some things I really like about this model. Any help is appreciated.

Hey All,

I'm currently residing in Valencia , CA .. I'm planning on doing alot of local weekend trips , up & down the coast..with hopes of making a few " Tear / Dutch Oven " gatherings in the future.

Unfortunately, due to my current work schedule, I can't get away & pick it up in person . I'm waiting to have it delivered to my local " Camping World " parking lot.

What sold me on this particular unit/model over some of the other traditional Teardrops ...HMMMMM

I would have to say it was the larger size, (compared to a few of the others) , unique styling , Galley layout. And for a little solitary reading area , the "Wraparound Couch " , looked very relaxing , in my mind !

Just my personal preference

Thanks for the info. I have to say so far I am liking this teardrop. May not be that model, I do love the stainless steel galley. I love the 2 burner stove. I do not need as much room as the wrap around couch. Thank you for all the photos of the building-it is fun to watch. Enjoy your new toy!

Hey Aussiedog,

For whatever its worth.. I generally try to plan my " Camping Trips " around fair weather ( No anticipated Rain or Snow ). However , mother nature can be very unpredictable .. ?

I.E.: I was Camping ( tent ) , in " Mammoth CA " , a few years back during the " 4th of July " weekend. The weather is normally in the mid " 80 " , with sunny skies ..

Well.. , I spent most of the week dealing with " Cloudy Skies ", along with , lots of Rain & a bit of Snow !!

So, it would of been nice to have the comforts , of some " music & a warm dry Couch" , to relax after a day of " Flyfishing " , along with a glass of quality Port , or Grand Marnier, to sip on 8)

p.s: My empty bottles recycled into some fashionable looking lamps , for my " Raindrop ".. !

Oh yeah, that wraparound couch is the BOMB! Very comfy, also makes getting dressed easier than just laying down like before.

Raindrop Update

Postby ELCHILEON » Sun Nov 15, 2009 11:51 am

Hey all,

I'm finally ready & fully oufitted.

I spent the day helping out with a " BBQ Fundraiser " for one of my local " 4-H Clubs ", and to get myself aquainted with my gear under field conditons.

Image
The generator worked out very nicely; Portable & very quite . My girlfriend sorted out the " Galley " and cooked up a "Pot of Baked Beans "
Image
We helped feed close to a " Hundred " kids & their parents.
Menu Served : Baked Beans / Grilled Hamburgers & Hotdogs.

Image
I added a " propane burner " to my " Big Green Egg ", but decided it was was toooo heavy to haul around . So , I picked up a new " Propane BBQ " from Cabelas.
There's a " U.S. Forestry Fire Restriction " on open Fires / Charcoal Cooking .

Image
Field tested at home ; 6 lbs Roaster @ 350, for 2hrs !

I'll be out again for a few days during the " Thanksgiving Weekend " !
