That's the first I've heard of them. They look OK but the options will kill your pocket book.

I dunno Jim,
As Danny has said, if your not tripling your material costs , your not in business.
For reference, Norma and I paid $7487 for our Hunter Fat Shadow (5X10) with about every option they offered, plus $600 to $700 to register it in Washington.
Hunter is a pretty much 'Take it or leave it' outfit. litlpup at least sound like they are willing to work with you.

$600 for a side door? I think that's way more than 3X the cost of materials.

He's the mfg. You don't figure in possible screw ups in the price of the tear. And he's probably willing to work with you because chances are he's just getting started. Hunter has been in business for several years. And he will work with you if it's not something major.

Any one have any idea where 505 area code is? Wonder way he doesn't give an address? Some people don't like to email, they like to stop by and look at the real thing.

Uh Gage,
I work for a pretty big manufacturing company.
The cost off "intervention resources’" i.e. rework, is definitely a consideration in our sales campaigns. Especially for a new product line.
I don't have any regrets with my transaction with Hunter. They were fantastic making sure we were ready to safely tow our new tear home.

Paul, having camped next to you at the IRG I can say that if you were in a crappy home built (like mine) you still are a true tear dropper. It doesn't matter what you camped in or how much it cost, you and Norma were the best I could have hoped to camp next to. I look forward to seeing you two at Shasta.

It does look like a pretty nice basic tear... nothing fancy, no insulation.

But some things seem a bit strange to me. Basic tear starts at $4500. and it comes with USED tires? Ahh, come on... new trailer tires don't cost all THAT much?
$385. for AC is a bit rich too. I guess this is another reason why we build our own... 8)

I wish him well... Looks like he may have a few kinks to work out though.

I camped across from the DO queen (only because I couldn't get close to her). Now in my eyes, that was about the best place to be. Only feet away from the best food in the campground.

And Paul, do you have any idea what the government would tell you if you told then that the airplane cost this much because we have to allow for possible screwups. Or if we told Boeing that our panel is now going to cost this much because we screwed up on some frame installations and have to redo them. In other words, if you screw up, you eat it, you don't charge the customer. And by the time your ready to sale to the public, you better be finished with the learning curve.

Botton line is he just may have to re-adjust his prices.

I looked up the phone number and this builder is in Roswell, NM. I thought it was a member here (Wolfie) but it is someone else. Looks like Wolfie isn't too far away from this guy.

Wow! I ain't believin' those prices. Seriously, y'all might really wanna look at the Yoder Toter for price vs. whatcha get. I paid about as much for a 5 X 8 as he wants for a 4 X 8 with a second door and new tires. Plus, it's skinned with aluminum and has a torsion axle that trailers like a dream. No sway, and minimal bounce. (Minimal!) Don't know what the woodwork looks like inside, but the Amish have some really tight miters.
